Bridal Party
Stephanie Nye
Stephanie is my oldest and closest friend. We were in the same kindergarten class together (though she doesn’t remember that and we didn’t become good friends until about 7th grade). We have been through everything together, high school, college, living together, work, boys and so on. Now she is my Maid of Honor! She is the sister I never had and I can’t imagine my life without her. I hope Dave realizes that once he marries me, Stephanie becomes part of his family too! We do practically everything together; some may say we’re joined at the hip. Stephanie is always ready with a smile, loves to talk things out and no matter what, will be there for me regardless of what else is going on. And if you like shoes, she is your girl. Stephanie also recently became engaged to Doug, one of Dave’s close friends, after I introduced them at the Haunted Hayride in 2007. I couldn’t be happier for the two of them!
Cassie Newkirk
Cassie and I met in college where we were both science nerds, though she prefers chemicals and I prefer the “stinky” science. We became fast friends due to our similar sense of humor, our mutual love of crafty things, science and a plethora of other stuff (the list is long!). She’s always been there for me when I need her and aside from a ‘dinosaur’ incident in college, I know that I can count on her for anything. And yes, feel free to ask her about that incident as she loves to tell the story. I can always rely on Cassie to tell me the truth about anything and she’s helped me through some rough times. I’m so glad that she moved to Rochester and is a constant part of my life and will be there for me on my wedding day!
Sharleen Smith
Sharleen Smith (soon to be Sharleen Slaunwhite) and I met at Bausch and Lomb where we both started to work as temps after college. While things started off a little rocky (after all, we were competing to be hired for the same job!) we couldn’t help but become friends. Sharleen is an honest and passionate person and while we no longer work together, we have kept our friendship going strong. She’s always there to lend an ear or stir me to keep going. She is seriously one of the most motivated people I know. She’s always there for whatever I need and as a bride herself, she has been an endless help with researching, figuring things out and planning! I look forward to being in her wedding as her Matron of Honor in 2012!
Michelle Girard
Ah, my Michelley. There is so much to say, yet I probably don’t really want to share all of those details
Michelle and I met at college where we ended up rooming together freshman year. I brought her home with me during fall break (where she realized I was not as quiet and unassuming as I seemed) and we became great friends after that. While she only went to Wells for one year, we kept our friendship going from different schools and towns. We get together whenever we can even though we live in separate states. She is one of the most honest, loyal and passionate people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I’m so glad we have stayed friends for so many years. She is now a photographer and a fantastic one at that! I couldn’t be more proud of her and I’m so excited that she is coming up for our special day!
Ashley Walker
Ashley and I are joined together by more than just our shared name! We met at Bausch and Lomb under the same circumstances as Sharleen. We found that we have a lot more in common than our first name. In fact, we share the same middle name too! We also share a love of animals and nature to which we currently go horseback riding and enjoy wilderness camping together. She’s always quick to lend a hand and practically lived with us while we renovated our house last summer (which is still not quite finished and which she still helps us with!). She’s always the first to offer up help and never complains no matter what you ask her to do. She is right up there for being one of the easiest going people I know. While she seems quiet, don’t let it fool you! She’ll be out dancing it up on the dance floor at the reception without a care! I’m so happy that she and I have become such close friends and that she will be there for me on our wedding day.
Lindsay Hewlett
I met Lindsay through Arthur, one of Dave’s friends (who also happens to be one of two who is responsible for how I met my soon to be husband!). Lindsay is one of the nicest people you’ll meet. She’s a lot of fun, is up for anything and loves to be a helper. Currently, we are joined in our mutual love of Zumba (which she introduced me to). She keeps me motivated to keep going to class even as things keep getting busier as the wedding draws nearer! While we have only known each other for a couple of years, I know that she will always be in my future.
Leo Skelly
Leo is our best man. I have known him almost my whole life since second grade. He has always been there for me (usually with a beer) when I have needed him. He is a true best friend.
Chris Slaunwhite
Chris and I have known each other for about 3 years. Since we met we have become good friends. We both share a passion for video games and spend many weekends mashing the buttons.
Chris Donahue
Chris is perhaps one of the easiest guys to get along with you will ever meet. We met in high school computer class. The class was always a great time mostly because Chris was a part of it.
Doug Bolton
Doug and I met in first grade originally. We crossed paths again after high school at “game night,” a once a week get together where a nerd can be a nerd. It was always a blast getting together to play our favorite games. Thanks to Doug and his generous tutelage I was able to jump in and play with the group.
Art Principe
Art and I went to high school together but didn’t really get to know each other officially until after high school. He’s always been a great friend a strategic master mind, and if it were not for Art and Doug, I would not have met my lovely soon to be wife.
Jim Aylesworth
Jim and I met up working at Circuit City. He is probably the nicest guy you would ever have the pleasure to meet. Jim and I both share a love for gadgets and fun toys. We do not always agree as to which gadgets are the best, but we do agree that they are a lot of fun.
